I am currently engrossed in the book "Sapiens: A Brief History of Mankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. Although I'm only in the first 100 pages, I've already come across some intriguing insights. One subject that has particularly captivated my attention is the historical significance of dogs. As an owner of a Maltese, this subject resonates deeply with me. In ancient times, dogs primarily valued for their hunting abilities and their role in providing security against predators. However, over time, the dynamics shifted dramatically. In the modern era, humans have assumed the responsibility of caring dogs, providing them with sustenance, protection and a high quality of life. In exchange, dogs offer us something invaluableーserotonin. Nowadays, dogs serve the purpose of bringing joy into our lives, elevating our serotonin levels, alleviating stress, and providing vital mental support when needed.
